Héctor Arias has held comprehensive responsibilities designing, building and running the BBVA's open banking and banking as a service platforms in several countries and globally, spanning: - API products: retail payments, B2B payments, lending, accounts, KYC, KYB, debit cards, FX. - Embedded finance business models, hence beyond regulated relationships such as PSD2. - Technology architecture on top of, and within the core banking systems. Hybrid cloud infrastructures. - Partnerships with Fintechs and Big Techs. P&L ownership for strategic relation- ships. - Business operations and governance (i.e. organization&processes supporting the biz operations). In his 20+ years experience in financial services he held positions in business strat- egy, innovation, business development and engineering. He also worked for IBM and feels particularly proud of coding the very first online banking in Spain. Héctor holds a MSc in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Vigo and a BA in Economics from the UNED. Additionally received a PDD from IESE.
